Give Up Soft Drinks

A typical can of soda has about 10 teaspoons of sugar, 150 empty calories and artificial colors, flavorings and preservatives. And all this from a beverage that has absolutely no redeeming nutritional value.

Consider what’s inside the typical soda can:

Phosphoric Acid. This common ingredient compromises your ability to use calcium, leading to osteoporosis and other bone disorders.

Corn Sweeteners. Sugar, in its various forms, raises insulin levels and can invite diabetes, weight gain, tooth decay and other adverse affects.

Artificial Sweeteners. Diet sodas with aspartame may be even worse. There are dozens of known health risks linked to this chemical which may intensify if the soda is stored for long periods or has been allowed to warm.

Caffeine. This nervous system stimulant is added to sodas to provide a drug-induced energy boost. Caffeine is an addictive substance that can produce a daily craving.

Pure water is a wiser choice. But if you feel compelled to drink a carbonated beverage, consider sparkling mineral water with some lemon juice.

Dr. Dennis Asks some important questions of interest to Honolulu residents - Chiropractor Honolulu Dr. Dennis Asks...

Where do most Honolulu residents get their first subluxation?
Being born in a hospital is a common source of subluxation. Trauma from forceps delivery has been replaced with drugs, vacuum extraction, Cesarean section and births that are "scheduled" to fit the workweek routines of Ob-Gyns. That's why we recommend a chiropractic checkup for every Honolulu newborn.
What's the difference between maintenance, prevention and wellness?
Maintenance chiropractic care is an attempt to keep a dynamic, ever-changing and adapting organism (you) in a static relationship with your environment. Preventive chiropractic care is mostly about early detection. Wellness chiropractic care is an attempt to optimize our health and be all that you were designed to be.
